Probably should have mentioned that voltage-starving doesn't work well on digital pedals. Not sure if any of the ones you used were digital, but that might be why it was so quick to sputter out when you turned the knob very slightly.

This is really interesting. Would changing the settings on the pedals affect the sounds running through the power supply?

I suspect that if I tried to use this with my Zoom MS70CDR (not EVEN analog 😄), it would just try to restart, taking a few seconds each time. The net result wouldn't be glitches, but long silence with maybe a fleeting squeak here and there. 🐭🐭😼
