I love Alan and Sandi together- so much fun to listen to and watch!

I am amazed by the reaction time of those klaxon operators.

I thought I was so clever when they went through all those wrong answers, and I'm sitting there smugly thinking that it's so obviously going to be 'Owl'.

I'm so happy this show is still as strong with Sandi as it had been with Stephen for all those years. Odd, the BBC actually doing something right.

Clip starts: "Which animal has the highest success rate as a hunter?"
Midway through clip: "(...) and what it does is it *calculates* where its prey is going to be (...)"
Clip ends: lol, penises

Strangely enough, it's Brian Blessed.

I have always loved dragonflies! I have long called them "the birds of prey in the insect world". The sound of them crunching through the exoskeleton of a tasty bug is astounding. Their mandibles are huge! Amazing creatures!

I can just imagine Alan somewhere during the 'Beast from the East' where his car windows have froze over. He's tried using a normal scraper, tried using hot water but still the ice won't budge. So what does he do? He grips his belt, grimaces and says to no one in particular- "And people tell me that I learnt nothing from Qi..."

"Which Animal, beginning with O, Is The Most Successful Hunter?" "Dragonfly" ok then

It's more than fair to call ’Dragonfly’ the most successful hunter, especially since he helped Basil Fawlty catch 85 pounds on the horse race.

For those complaining about the unfairness of mentioning the letter 'O', that's entirely reasonable, but it was also entirely intentional.

The QI format is of a genteel, old-school, after-dinner parlour game; the whole point is to wind people up, tease questions out, have a laugh, cheat decorously, beguile the innocent, intrigue the curious, confound pedants, and give any smartarse whippersnappers a damn good thrashing.

Sandi's sneaky 'O' ploy is perfectly valid because it achieves so much for so little... ;-)

The Dragonfly has four wings and can control all 4 independently. It can fly forwards, backwards, sideways, straight up, straight down and hover. Basically, anything a helicopter can do, with a brain the size of a pin head.

i was expecting it to be Orca, they're so strategic when it comes to hunting

"What is he most successful hunter?"

I think I know this one

"Starts with an O"

I definitely know this one, otters have to consume about a quarter of their body weight a day, so it'd have to be them

"It's dragonflies"

...

Sure, why not

You think getting your tongue stuck to a frozen bit of metal is unpleasant... Try your 'scraper'.

Owls are quite prodigious predators in their own right. I think it's something like 6 to 7 out of ten attempts, which is a lot better than a lions by far.

Dragonflies can see fast. That's why they're such good hunters

Epomis Beetles have pretty much a 100% success rate in hunting frogs

I thought it was shaped that way to stop your hand slipping off the end.
