Показать описание
Master cylinders are an important component of many vehicles. They convert the applied force of the foot or fingers into hydraulic pressure. A master cylinder is almost always a tandem master cylinder, which we would like to describe in this animation.

Contents
1) Master cylinder with compensating ports
2) Reservoir tank
3) Compensating ports and breather ports
4) Pistons and cups
5) Brake pads against brake disc
6) Split brake systems
7) Portless master cylinder with valves

Important to mention… When the piston is in the rest position, the brake fluid will be balanced via The compensation hole. This compensation hole is very small, clean this compensation hole with a very thin wire of copper, if it would clog… you are guaranteed a dragging caliper, this has already happened to me twice!!! with the Honda CBX 1000. Stay Safe.

Good presentation, Thomas. Could you add how the reservoir introduces fluid into the piston system? Thanks.

Thank you. Would be interesting to see an animation of what's happening during internal leakage of the master cylinder.

You last comment on the abs system confused me a bit?

Does abs cars not run a split system like front / rear?

ok so if you brake and there is a leak, it's made so you will still be able ton brake..

But.. Is it possible to have an oil leak in your brake lines without losing pedal pressure?

Very interesting video, i have a ram 3500 2022, and every 2000 miles im loosing one or both rotors for the rear, the way this video shows its split front from rear so my guess is that the master brake cilynder has an internal leak and it's loosing vacum, and the rear rottors are dragging and overheating then vibration starts. Corect me if im wrong,
Thx

How does the brake fluid gets pumped around. Is there a pump for the brakes?
The reason why I'm asking is because when the engine is turned off the brakes become harder to stop.
