We the Peoples 2023: Hickmatu Leigh – SDG Vanguard Award

Hickmatu Leigh, Photographer and Purposeful Artist in Residence, accepts the SDG Vanguard award in a pre-recorded message. The award was presented by Jayathma Wickramanayake, the former UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth.

Leigh received the honor at UN Foundation’s annual Global Leadership Awards event — also known as We the Peoples — which recognizes extraordinary individuals and organizations whose work embodies the values of the UN Charter.
