I see people in the comments disliking Harvey's character for becoming too soft, but I don't think he is too soft. Up until the later seasons, he just ignored feelings, which isn't healthy, and is actually "softer" than admitting them. Admitting one's feelings is part of the journey to becoming a fulfilled person, and the Harvey from season 9 is way more fulfilled as a person than the Harvey from season 1.

People often misunderstand the point of this show and specifically Harvey. The show starts off with portraying the hard and glamorous corporate life and the aggressive or power hungry macho characters (Harvey and Jessica) but it slowly teaches you that these things fade away in time, and characters like Harvey and Jessica end up realizing their outlook on life was not as fulfilling as they thought it was, not that they became "soft." There is a ton of real testimonials out there from actual former corporate attorneys who regret their chosen profession and living their former unfulfilling lifestyles, and some who even switched to civil service and claim it's far more rewarding. The show is very realistic in this regard.

That is not exactly being soft. It is just how being alone looks like. Sometimes you enjoy your own company but sometimes you just don’t want to talk to someone you care and you trust. Harvey does not get into relationships because he does not trust people easily. The plus point of this is your trust is safe and won’t be broken but you will be alone. And I guess that’s a price that the mighty Harvey Specter has to pay as well.
