DCC is in Cassie Trammell’s blood — her mom is Judy, after all! When she tried out for the team, though, it was a nerve-wracking experience. Thankfully, she had what it took to make the team year after year as she grew into a team leader. Here’s a look back at her DCC journey.

#ThenAndNow #DCCMakingTheTeam #CMT

Follow CMT's Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders!

Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

12:54 Jay was literally the only judge in that room who kept it real. Brave guy.

If it were anyone else that looked, danced, or acted the way Cassie did they would’ve been cut from the jump

How quickly Kelli responded with “no” when Jay asked the obvious: would they extend the same leniency to anyone else that was injured during auditions...

I find it very “coincidental “ that Cassie NEVER ONCE got called into the office.

I just feel so bad for the other girls trying out and knowing that cassie is getting special treatment and a Guaranteed spot on the squad while your fighting for your spot. Plus no matter how much you outdance her, she'll still be on top. That must be a soul killing experience.

Judges to most rookie candidates during the interview round: “who was the running back that scored two touchdowns in the Cowboys’s third super bowl victory? If you don’t know this, you could embarrass our organization.”

Judges to Cassie: “YoU cLeArLy KnOw WhAt iT tAKeS tO mAkE tHiS tEaM, dO yOu HaVe iT?”

I feel for her, and she is talented (cheerleading her whole life). The main issue I had was her attitude. She would openly belittle the other members, esp the Rookies. I get your mom is the head honcho, but this is a team. You're meant to guide, uplift, and give constructive criticism to your teammates to be the best you can be - not act like you're all that, especially when you know you have your mom on your side (ie, you'll never get cut).

Sorry to say that she definitely wasn't the strongest dancer. In her rookie year, she was by far the weakest dancer there. It literally took up until her 5th year when her dancing started to look decent. She didn't have the star power like Holly or Maddie.

If Judy and Cassie's dream was for her to be a DCC, then why didn't they enroll her in more dance focused classes instead of cheer and gymnastics when she was young? Judy knows everything it takes, and they had the means and time to prepare her. She looked to be a strong All-Stars cheerleader, but she looked a bit uncomfortable dancing like she was new to it. She's a pretty girl, but her hair (and sometimes) makeup weren't the most flattering choices for her and looked a bit high school. Kelli and Judy make such a big deal about a lot of girls needing makeovers to pop for the judges; why didn't Judy take her to the salon before try-outs to give her the classic DCC look? Those are all things that could have really better prepared her to audition and put her under less scrutiny.

There is something about her that makes her really, really hard to like. A sense of entitlement, maybe. In any case, not a likeable human.

Cassie has a gross personality. Even after Erica filed a lawsuit against them and won she complained on her Instagram .

In season 7 when she had surgery, it was clear she never should've made the team, and when she did, it was obvious the entitlement she received,

They should have given Cassie a generic last name in her audition process, to get the true opinions of the guest judges (obviously Charlotte, Judy & Kelly know who she is) but that really would have proved her case of “making the team all on her own”

Honestly watching this again even from the initial clips it’s so obvious she’s much better and had more practice with traditional cheerleading vs. the DCC “dance” style cheerleading.

I don’t remember the comment section asking for cassies journey lol

Edit: I still watched it, and definitely read the comments. I was still entertained.

I don't know why it took a whole 21 minuets to explain that her mom was the reason she made the team, showgroup, and a group leader. If judy wasn't her mom i think she would have been cut her first round of auditions

I think it really sucks that so many exceptions were made for Cassie, yet when it was Dayton they did not do the same.

I lost all respect for Cassie the moment she felt the need to publicly humiliate a rookie candidate in front of all her peers and superiors. Rotten behaviour.

Blaming that dancing on her asthma was the biggest cop out 😂 like you can really tell she was bullshitting. This video ain’t good
