I was going to express this appreciation in a private message but I'm convinced it needs to be said in public. I'm a veteran dealing with lingering remorse. The only other song able to reach me at this level is the White Buffalo's "30 Days Back". Where 30 Days Back helped me relate to reintegrating, Shotgun has helped me take the next step almost a decade later. Both songs serving different parts of my healing. I'm not going into details but Shutgun has inspired me to be honest with my therapist about what has been holding me back in the struggle. Thanks to Evan and his team. This truly inspired me to take a step I should have taken years ago. Love, peace and chicken grease.

Evan I've never heard of you or your music before this morning. About 6 months ago I loaded my own shotgun and was within a trigger pull from suicide. I've since been getting involved in my local church and have been getting the help I needed to overcome my own depression. The first time I heard this song this morning, I burst into tears. These lyrics you've written, that's exactly what I was begging to be able to explain myself. Bad primers with good timing, bringing hope into such a dark song. Well done. I thank God for giving you the ability to write this song and deliver it in the way that you do.

My brother died in 2018, and I’ve been contemplating if should go and visit him, I stop myself everyday from doing it. I found this song 3 years after he passed and I come back to it from time to time every time I struggle. I’ve accomplished some good things at least that’s what people tell me, but my brother will never know.

There are really no words for this. Its literally one of the most powerful haunting songs I've ever heard in my life. You sound incredibly vulnerable when you sing which gives it so much emotion. Its not just the words...it's how you say them. The pauses you take. Everytime I hear this I'm speechless...I hope one day we cross paths so I thank you for giving so much of yourself to what you do.
