In this video, I discuss one reason why I sold my Rolex Explorer II 16570 after a year of ownership. I loved the timepiece for many reasons but just this one reason was enough for me to let it go. Remember to like and subscribe for more. Enjoy!

I´m not a gloebtrotter by any means, but i do travel(vacations). and the second time zone is really usefull then.
But what i like the most, is that you can see the remaining hours of the day. Yes I know, any watch will tell you, but it is really visual with the 24 hand

Given many people wear divers at their desk, I don't see an issue with a GMT when not traveling.

Also, the history is that the explorer II was designed for cave explorers. For situations in which they could not tell on which side of the 24h cycle they were on with a regular watch. In that sense the watch can be argued as both a watch with just a 24h hand and an added bonus as GMT.

In any case, there is no need to justify selling something if it doesn't or no longer floats your boat right? In my opinion, life is for the individual to live and only the individual can understand what living to him/her is.

On one hand... You don't have to justify selling anything you used your hard earned money to buy.... On the other hand, strange reason to sell a Rolex.

The original design was to be a 24hour watch first. Originally you could not even change the hour hand. I think they should have kept this as a 3 hand watch with the hour hand only going around once per 24 hrs. That would have been pretty unique.

The Explorer 2 was actually designed for spelunking. So you could have used it as an AM/PM indicator.

Its why i have never bought a GMT... i wouldn't use it, although GMTs are nice to look at. Thats why i gravitate towards dive watches. What watch are you going to get next?

You should've known that before you bought it...

Next time just start with the reason and call it a day.

I used to have a Rolex GMT on my wait list. I removed it for the same reason. No use for a GMT even when I do travel. That decision led me to reevaluate what I really wanted from a watch and if I was truly buying for myself or for others. So I bought a Grand Seiko White Birch Spring Drive and haven't looked back. It's accurate to less than +1 second PER MONTH and has a 5-day power reserve. Wow a watch that accurately tells time and is never off my wrist long enough to need winding. AND it looks stunning and feels amazing on the wrist.

Huh? You should have kept it. Sole reason for owning a watch. Because you love wearing it. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. I have a pilot watch I love wearing. I'm not a pilot.
