I had a long conversation with Macken Murphy a few months ago, and it contained many good points. I don't want to make you watch all 3 hours, so here's one as a short!

The issue is, he started with no facial hair, and as such he attracts women who prefer that, thus poisoning the well of his own experience. A man with a beard will primarily attract women who prefer beards.

It’s very simple:

If a beard makes your jawline more masculine looking… which it does for most men… then the beard is more attractive. However if it doesn’t, then not wearing a beard is more attractive because a beard makes you also look older… so if it doesn’t make you look more masculine, but does make you look older… the net outcome is worse for wearing the beard.

TLDR:
Wear a beard if it makes your jawline MORE attractive. Don’t if it doesn’t.

Right the data is over an average of a large amount of women. If they only surveyed your girlfriend, then the result would have been different. Generalized statistics don’t apply to specific situations, except for some predicting power. It’s like… “the average person can throw a ball 20 yards” and someone being like “that statistic is false, my baby can only throw it 1 yard”. Sir… your baby is not the average person

They’re both right, at least in my experience. Women in general who are not a significant other find men who have some facial hair more attractive. But when you’re in a relationship with a woman she prefers no facial hair for the obvious reasons. It’s abrasive when cuddling, kissing etc. I’m married and still get hit on more frequently by random women when I have some facial hair.

Look at the data and find out what is mathematically supported to be done. Have a personal experience and determine that that particular data does not correctly apply to you. If you have zero women, it makes sense to do what women generally like. If you have one woman, it makes sense to do what she likes.

Too little beard is abrasive and women don’t want to be rubbed with sandpaper.
You need enough beard for it to be soft, but not so long that you look unkempt.
That’s the preference, in my experience.

My interpretation of this is that if you have a face like Macken Murphy you can go clean shaven, but if you have a weak chin and jaw, you probably want to have a beard to hide that lol

From what I remember, I saw a study that showed that if you have a very masculine face to not have a lot of facial since it covers it up, and if you have a less masculine face some facial will help.

I'm wearing a full grown beard for years and a lot of women like it. My girlfriend never waits with a razor at the door... That's actually a behaviour from a low quality woman

More recent studies have shown that it’s actually dependent on a few variables:
1)overall weight
2)facial structure
3)the hair on your head
4)the quality of facial hair you can produce
All these affect which facial-hair-style looks “most attractive” on a person. I look best with stubble (and maybe a mustache on top of stubble), but not a full beard. Other guys look best with a full beard, other guys look best clean-shaven.

The reason his girlfriend likes him clean shaven is likely because she is more attracted to clean shaven men. That's a part of the reason why she picked him. So is possibly every other woman who picked him.

When you’re in a relationship with a woman, her first job is to keep you away from other potential mates. Which means making you less attractive. So she’d want you to shave, put on weight, spend less time at the gym etc.
