When you have too much paint, you fix it by adding more naturally. Love it.

Thanks so much for a good laugh! "If I was 5, it's awesome!" I really do appreciate your sharing your play time with the Smartart Boxes, especially when you are using a medium that you haven't done before. Your colored pencil and acrylic paint work is absolutely amazing and it's obvious of the time and efforts you have put into your art work. Showing how a first attempt at a new exploration didn't produce absolutely stunning results from such an accomplished artist is a good lesson for some individuals new to trying any art medium. Thanks again for sharing!

Lisa, I laughed out loud so many times - love your self-deprecating humour! (((hugs))) I kept wishing you could have called me for instructions on using that gelli-plate ... but then your video would not have been nearly as fun. lol You always keep it real and I love you for that!! 😍❤️😘

You normally use only a dot or 2 of paint & lift it off with different papers, thru stencils etc in different ways until there's none left. The stamping cards are usually smooth so they can be evenly stamped-on with rubber stamps & ink without the image being patchy. In most cases the art is normally done on a separate piece of paper or cardstock then affixed to the front of a card 'blank', so there is no bleed-through on the inside, but those stamp cards may be made to allow for using only 1 card layer. If you want to experiment more with those supplies, Lindsay at thefrugalcrafter has playlists on each gelli plates, card making & stamping. Enjoy :)

You work in reverse with gelli plates. That is why the blue kept appearing. It was one of the first colors you added, but you did not mix the original layer with blue blobs. You just covered that layer with the plum. So you end up with a plum background and all the original blue/red colors remain on top. I hope that makes sense. Your last 3 cards were nice. I loved hearing how you ask your hubby to do chores!

I have been wanting one of these. You can even make your own gelli plate. There is some really cool things you can do with this. If you are ever board watch some videos on you tube. I will sometimes do that whe. I can’t sleep. Anyway, I haven’t ventured out to do it yet, cause I don’t like messes. Haha

"Holy crap, that's a lot of paint, " "If I was five, that's awesome, " "Yeah, that's a hot mess". Your comments crack me up. These turned out nice! A fun, low-stress art project.

Using a brayer for mixing is not a problem. Didn't it say somewhere in the instruction pea sized blobs of color? I recommend to watch Barbara Gray from Claritystamp with the gelli print plate. She is amazing and gives clear and easy to follow instructions in her videos.

Eek, looks like you’ve found the paint equivalent of messy pastels! Looks like you had fun though... 😃

I love the smart box videos. This could have been soooo messy if I had done it

I think you could have laid the stencil with the paint on and lay it on a card for a soft print. This looks fun tho. I can't tell you how much you have taught and inspired this old lady ... THANK YOU!

I think the blue spot on your first card looked like a badger with a long tail for a body and the one that you said looked grungy looked like a pink forest. I can see creatures and imagine other lands in just about anything.

I love my gelling plate. I cringed watching you add paint, so much paint. You don't have to get the "final" look in one go. I haven't used that brand of acrylics before but, generally they dry fast enough in thin layer for you to layer prints. Whet you did with the heart cut outs you could have done much easier on the plate. I'm so glad I had a teacher helping me when I first used a gelli plate. It is my favorite thing to use for backgrounds

This was a little painful to watch - you should have just read the directions, first and maybe watched a vid or two on gelli printing! lol - BUT at least you had fun playing around with it. My sister is just like that - she never bothers to take just a few mins to read the directions to things. Love that you started to understand that less paint is better. And that you started designing - sad that you didn't add in more blue or try to ombre any of the stamping. But I think when you do it again you'll really get into gelli printing.
