I am an elder teen who never had a sibling. However, when I am the first person in an elevator, and there is another stranger in the elevator, I ask them for their floor and I press the button for them as well as for my floor. This is my way of looking like a mature and polite teenager, while I am mostly still enjoying the childish entertainment of pushing the elevator button.

Everyone with a sibling has done one of these at some point in their childhood

I just discovered him. What an amazing, classy comedian, brilliant jokes and most importantly he does not make people laugh at expense of others.

"I will never understand racing for the lift button!"

Me: *chuckles nervously*

My brother has 3 small kids and they argue about who's turn it is to be sat in the middle!? I don't get it...I'd rather have a window seat.

I'm 26 and my younger sister is 24 and we still race for the lift button...

My daughter and son are now 30 and 28, but still can remember doing this at 9 and 7! The talking/crying while inhaling was dead-on... Watching the drama unfold as their mom was exasperatingly ridiculous and hilarious at the same time, even then! I actually miss those days.

Just realised, he is probably the rare comic who does not lace his Set with swear words.

One of his kids has hit the dislike button. The other one’s not going to be happy when he finds out.

That's actually something we can learn from kids. Make the daily things special, then every day is. Paying the groceries, pushing the buttons, sitting in the front. your life is gonna be filled with daily stuff, Make them epic, suddenly so is life.

The man walking on roadside had historical context. The man would typically walk there to prevent the lady's dress from getting splashed and it was seen as chivalrous and polite.

i think kids like pushing the button because it is a very easy way to control something in the real world that helps them do something to get on with their day but doesnt have huge complications or consequences if they do something wrong or make a mistake. it is just a button that takes them to a floor or get across the street so no bad can come from pushing the button unless it is broken. and it has the power to help the whole family so it may make them feel as though they have done something kinda important but not too important to stress them out

Had to finally institute a system for our twins on who sits in the front. The 'oldest' sits in the front on odd days, the 'youngest' has even days. We started this 10 years ago and they still work things out equitably this way today!

Can confirm, me and my sister are 22 and 17 respectively... still argue over who gets front seat

My dad and his sister used to do this thing called “I’ll cut, you pick” so if they had to cut something like a piece of cake in half to share, the person cutting would try and make it as even as possible so the other couldn’t pick the bigger slice. This always reminds me of that.
