6 Ways to Kill or Control Quackgrass: A Lawn Owner's Guide. The video explains how to control and get rid of quackgrass in your lawn. Quackgrass is a type of grassy weed that is difficult to kill without affecting other plants. The video describes six methods to control quackgrass. The first method is to smother the quackgrass. This can be done by placing dark plastic or tarp over the location of the quack grass patches and using rocks to anchor the edges. This will block out the sunlight and rainwater, effectively killing off the quack grass over a 3-4 week period. The second method is to solarize the grass. This is done by placing clear plastic over each patch of quackgrass and anchoring it with rocks or stakes. This will create a greenhouse effect within the bag, and solarize the soil the grass is growing in. This will take several weeks to complete, but it should kill most of the grass. The third method is to use an herbicide. Unfortunately, there are no herbicides on the market that selectively kill just quackgrass. Therefore, using an herbicide like ‘Round-Up’ is guaranteed to kill your quackgrass but also guaranteed to kill any other grass or plants around it. The fourth method is to dig it up. This is done by digging out the grass with the dirt surrounding it about 1 foot deep and wide. Pull out any roots that you can see, but avoid breaking them off. Fill the hole with fresh topsoil and cover with black plastic or thick mulch to prevent a new patch from coming back. The fifth method is to suppress the grass with another crop. This is done by planting a more vigorous green plant like buckwheat, which will dominate the quackgrass and take up most of the soil space. When the buckwheat flowers, you can till it into the soil and further suppress quackgrass growth. The sixth and final method is to maintain and manage the weed. This can be done by increasing the amount of nitrogen fertilizer used on your lawn to help with the health of your preferred grass. Mow it frequently as well to limit the appearance of the quackgrass. It is important to avoid tilling the quackgrass, as the broken rhizomes can each sprout a new patch of the weed.

Pretty ineffective or unpalatable methods. Besides, who wants to watch an animatron. I want someone who i know has some hands on experience, not a graphic artist!
