Piccolo redemption was soooo good. Imagine being evil and being forced to protect your planet and the son of your enemy, but then because of this, you start to feel something deep in your heart aflourish. It would be like ending with a golden key if kami said before fusing "I'm proud of you".

These AMV's make me reflect on Dragon Ball being more than just flashy fights and that a LOT of people forget the absolute masterpiece that were the DBZ character developments, and DBZ as a whole, i don't know, makes me feel... Proud...

This is a ridiculously cool AMV. Made me realize finally why he had a little ego trip with Trunks, Krillen and Tien before he flew off to merge with Kami. The guy was bitter at the realization that he had to trade his identity as Piccolo in order to gain the necessary power to fight the Cell and the cyborgs. Definitely the coolest character in all of DB, imo.

Piccolo's character development and overall character arc from the Saiyan Saga to the Cell Saga was just so good. Seeing how much he grew as a person compared to og Dragon Ball and his progressing relationship with Gohan, the son of his former rival, had me invested in his character during much of Z's story. Toriyama knew how to write compelling characters and Piccolo was one of them. Kind of a shame that he gets shafted a bit during the Buu Saga and Super.
