Nobody can forget the noise of the Quattro!

I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle in New Zealand twice in the 82 and 83. She was an incredible driver and a very charming lady. Between her and Walter Rohl those Audi's were untouchable.

that corner at 0.45 always sticks in my mind, amazing power and sound! And that guys reaction in the foreground - would be my exact response if I was there.

I don't know what sounds better. Her accent or the Quattro.

This woman doesnt get the recognition she deserves.
Imagine what she had to put up with when rallying, when it was unheard of, to have a woman who was as good as any man
Just to be able to be physically strong enough to muscle these monster cars, with no drivers aids is incredible.
That championship was hers, if it wasnt for mechanical error.
I always remember the stage she drove totally blind in the fog, because she had recced the stage the previous night, and memorised it.
Imagine the commitment you must have, and the trust in your co-drivers pace notes, when you can see zero...1 mistake and disaster.
She was going so much faster than Rohrl, that she caught him up on the stage, as he was the car out before her!

Her achievements have never been matched, or got anywhere near to by any woman

It's just fantastic. One of my favourite drivers of all time.

Souvenirs de la féminité la plus totale au service du rallye, un milieu particulièrement matcho. Elle n'a jamais fait de concession à sa situation de femme, en a rabaissé plus d'un par son talent, et a toujours mis tout le monde d'accord. Une icône, une vraie !
