I played a whole year on controller and recently started playing mnk, been onyx 1600 on both inputs. In most cases the controller has an advantage. Sniping, movement such as certain jumps, and spinning around were the only areas i saw an advantage with mnk. All close encounter gun fights were significantly easier on controller which is most gunfights in ranked. Basically all pros use controller for this reason. Why do i use mnk? Its simple really, the controller felt different every time i played and i grew tired of it. Anyone who thinks mnk has an advantage in ranked simply has never played mnk.

When console players use aim assist its fine but when keyboard /mouse players use aim assist its bannable like dude... Aim asist is NOT the same as movement "oh but pc players can move better!" yeah? What's the point if you just 1 shot hs an pc player using aim asist and they cant do anything about it?

If MNK was better than controller we would be seeing all the pros using it. I like using both

Well, I own both XBox and PC and played as much with controller (MS Elite) as with MnK and I feel controller aim assist definitely helps to win in 1v1. On the other hand, MnK movement is much faster so eventually I switched but I think there is the reason why pros are playing controller.

Meanwhile dark souls players are using dancepads and guitar hero controllers because they're objectively worse inputs, but the challenge is fun

The average m&k player will always be better than the average controller player but if you watch high level controller players vs m&k it’s not too different so in the end it really doesn’t matter

Unless the game is like apex, where to be competetive in the higher ranks, you NEED to play controller on PC, aim assist is set too high

Facts, but the worst type of players are the controller players complaining that mnk is better. Looks like there are a lot of those in the comment section here. Literally one question shuts everything down, “why do pros play controller then?”

I think that each input has definate advantages that you could play to, however they both have disadvantages as well. Halo is not necessarily a gunskill game, while gunskill is important, halo is very much a macro game. If you have better positioning, and team play, an MnK player could wreck a controller player and visa versa.

Tbh the controller aim assist argument is also annoying cs at least me and I would think a lot of others turn off aim assist, lock and tracking if the option is available. PC’s only advantage is the power they can run imo

It doesn't matter in a casual setting but anyone who thinks mouse and keyboard is inferior or remotely equal to controllers are coping.

Mouse = highest skill ceiling by miles

Controller = lowest skill floor
