My only problem with this game is that it doesn't let you see how fast you're going and never shows any speedometer

We put Flip on the cars because we are fans of skateboarding and the Flip Videos. It's a rad logo. The game is all about fun. There's also other brands from the Skate/Snowboarding world. We are just throwing props to those brands.

I think Colin would be excited by this game. He took Rally to the Xgames and now the Action sports community is embracing Rally. What's wrong with having some fun?

Why do people hate so much on this game? It's obviously not supposed to be rally! It's an arcade racer. If you don't want an arcade racer, by all means, get dirt 1-3. But if you want a more arcadey game, get showdown. It's quite obvious it's not rally (does it say colin mcrae anywhere?), and anyways, dirt 4 is going to be rally, so stop complaining.

I usually prefer IGN, but I admire GameSpot for taking Showdown for what it is: a spin-off. It's not a sim, but IGN took points off for "not staying true to the DiRT formula" or something. Sorry for them trying something new. There's always DiRT 4, IGN.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not a racing game fan at all but ones that I'm a fan of, like Demolition Derby, this brings all those fun moments back what I really enjoyed.

For people who love rally races, cockpit views and etc. PLEASE BUY DiRT3.
For those who hates cockpit views, loves burnout kind of game, bumpercars, and just smashing cars up, get DiRT showdown.

I bought DiRT showdown, last night, I hated it and deeply regretted not getting DiRT 3 complete edition. It's just not the game I was looking for

Those who is hating DiRT. Remember, DiRT 2 is no longer called a rally game. But a Off-Road Racing + X-Game. If you want pure rally action, go play WRC. Also Showdown is just a game that tell you what their engine can do and how fun racing game can be. So stop hating

They are others who actually do like the game and appreciate the style. Remember, this game is supposed to attract a certain crowd and that crowd only.

actually, I wasn't speaking in hypotheticals. Codemasters is actually doing that, so that's why this game doesn't have any "real" racing.

It's probably under the DiRT name because they're using the exact same engine, a number of the same gymkhana things and, fuck it dude, it looks like a DiRT game. It's not DiRT 4 but it's a (hopefully) fun side project.

Dirt always has amazing graphic, but I thing if the cars carry weapons, guns, rockets, you can imagine how it will be.

lot's of people don't know, but I've read that they have splitted the dirt games up in two seperate games.

1 serie which will concentrate on rally, and the otherone on this kind of driving

It's a shame racing games in general have to have toned down destruction. With companies not liking their cars getting smashed to lives on a video game, there's obviously made up cars, and I think it's missing something when there aren't real cars used.

The formula 1 series of GED would be even more fun if the teams allowed codemasters to make car damage as realistic as possible

As a Demolition Derby fan since the first PS1 games and the best game IMO Test Drive: Eve Of Destruction player, i have to say, this game is friggin' sweet, could be more realistic as the above mentioned TD:EOD, but nonetheless it's a great time. Completed my first 5 races, demo derby's, knockout's and it's great fun. I recommend this gem for any DD fan out there. This is not a Colin Mcrae type sim, it's arcade through and through. WHAT A BLAST I'M HAVING!
