The World Bank approved recently a new Open Access policy for its research outputs and knowledge products, effective July 1, 2012. The new policy formalizes the Bank's practice of making research and knowledge freely available online. In support of the new policy the Bank is consolidating thousands of books, articles, reports and research papers in a search-engine friendly Open Knowledge Repository, and allowing the public to distribute, reuse and build upon much of its work.
