I test rode an s1000xr just yesterday. I thought it to be one of the most amazing sport touring bikes I’ve ever ridden.

Just bought one 3 weeks ago. Had nothing but Harleys for the last 25 years. I'm enjoying the heck out of this BMW.

Will be interesting to see your comparison between this bike and the upcoming 2024 M1000XR. I am a new BMW rider, so far very happy with my bike (M1000R) Great vid Smokey!

In Dynamic Pro you don't need TC off to wheelie, also Suspension is always fully self adjusting, both in Dynamic and Road mode, Dynamic is simply the sportier setting, also 226kg is the wet weight not dry.

I'm about to change my 1200GS for this one. Yes the GS is awesome but I need that sound.

Thanks for the brilliant review as always Smokey, I'm torn between an M1000R, S1000RR or S1000XR. Mainly road ride, but want to do track next year, would be nice to be able to tour with the Mrs Pillion sometimes. Most fun would probably be the S1000RR, Most pracitcal daily M1000R and for our longer journeys, the XR. Will have to see. Thanks again for your brilliant content.

Went to the BMW-dealer to order one last week, but the deal fell through. Seems production of the full power version was stopped by BMW... Dealer told me a facelift is programmed for the beginning of next year, together with the allready announced new 1300 GS. So I guess I'll wait a little bit longer...

7:51 the only motorcycle I know that comes factory stock with a decent (car) horn, is the K 1600 GT (and GTL of course). With a horn that makes less noise and has less effect then grandma sneezing, it's nearly obligatory to turn to the likes of Denali and others
