Did fostering when I was home more. A lot of work but so rewarding. Saw these scared hissy cats blossom to friendly kittens.
To those who say " but don't you want to keep them all.?" The answer is no if I did I couldn't save others and my house would he full. I brought joy to another family.
To be honest I did keep a pair of Ginger kittens. The humans didn't want to adopt both and the wallflower needed his brother. I kept them rather than separating them . They stayed with e 15 years until 2021. Sweet little cats.
6 month later I went to a shelter and rescue and got two teenagers . Happy go lucky tux and shy at first but love hug now little girl tabby.

I'm an elder & disabled but I adopted two kittens off the street & a badly abused Chihuahua, she was about 5 yrs old maybe 2lbs of bones & skin both eyes damaged & infected, nails were nearly two inches long & no training of any kind. Been working with her for two years now on training & love, she's now finding out play time with the cats is fun😂🤗 Limited funds on disability but they get quality food, still working on the toys & want to get wall shelves due to limited space in a condo. I eat once a day but end up sharing my food with them😂 Especially tuna sandwiches😂

Been fostering for several years. Just had my longest foster (14 months) adopted by a perfect family this past Sunday. Taking a little break because of health. Getting my spare bedroom ready to change my foster focus from dogs to kittens needing intensive care. Turning my spare room into a kitty ICU. Fitting, as I’m a retired ICU nurse for both adults and children.

When your queen loses a litter you can call the shelter and ask if they have bottle babies. They always have some in summer. Your grieving mother and the rescues will all thank you.

I have great respect for people who Foster animals. It takes a lot to give them away after you have raised them and cared for them as your own. I am still unable to do this because I can't part with them.

Someone dumped a kitten at my house Saturday. She's just a baby. Probably 8-9 weeks. So she's mine now lol! A little calico that my husband named Yuengling.

Thank you for drawing attention to & asking people to foster - both dogs & cats. I do TNR & walking into situations where there are tons of kittens, we are begging for fosters. It is so sad to know that so many of them will never know a real home & will continue to live outside for the rest of lives. Yes, many of us have our own feral colonies & we take good care of them, but, being a house cat would be even better.
A big thank you to include dogs, as well! Like you said, there are sooo many dogs that need homes right now. The situation is dire for them, especially the big dogs. The shelters are full with dogs needing homes & I hate to know that so many are being euthanized because of lack of space.
Thank you so much for your encouragement for people to foster! Boy, do we need them!

I went to an adoption event recently and my heart broke at how many black kittens were not being adopted, fostered or even looked at. They were in the middle of the store and I was there for a ridiculously long time playing with the cats and no one stopped.
My cats wouldn't do well with a dog at home but going to a shelter and spending time with the animals and helping to get pictures and stories out on social media helps! So even if someone can't take home animals they can take an hour a week and go to a shelter and help get those furry faces out there for others to see!
