Thanks so much! I bought a Canon ELPH 310 HS for $5 at my local thrift shop. Had a jammed lens cover. This worked beautifully! (Great camera by the way)

Purchased the plastic tool kit a month back... Using the small blue prying tool you recommended immediately resolved the stuck lens cover on my Lumix DC-ZS200. This tool will be added to my camera bag when traveling !! This is a great little tool set ! Many Thanks !!

This helped . Didn’t have the tool so I used my nails gently like 5 times and it worked

Wow, this fix took like 5 seconds. I had a bunch of sand in my G7X Mark II and all other problems like a grinding noise when using the ring disappeared after a few days but the lens was stuck open for the last year. I dreaded the repair bill and today finally tried to find a way to repair it myself. Literally 5 seconds, thanks for the video!

Awesome, THANKS!!! I've had this issue with a used Canon PowerShot SX740 HS that I had bought years ago and the lens cover kept sticking. I thought I was going to need to replace the lens assembly. Then I thought of looking up fixes for the issue and came across your video. Saved me time, money and anxiety. Thanks again!

2 years late comment here, but this worked great, this fixed my work phone mid-job, and saved me at least the hassle of an expense report. Thanks!!!

Thanks so much! Helped revive my camera that had been abandoned in a drawer for two years! We didn't have a tool, but used a guitar pick :)

Thank you so much - just slid the nail on my pinkie in a mm and a few grains of sand fell out and now all is good - very grateful

This was helpful! I tried prying gently, but that didn't quite do the trick. We had gone to the beach recently, so I though I'd try blowing as hard as I could into the closed cover. That did the trick! I'm guessing this dislodged some sand stuck in there. I used to play saxophone, so I blew pretty hard ;), a can of compressed air may work too.

Hey man, thanks for sharing. Had the same issue on my Sony RX100v and a little pull with my fingernail around the lens cover (I don't have the smart phone tool like you) and bam! Fixed.
