8 Tiny Details You Missed In The Sea Beast

Who doesn’t want to run away on a ship with legendary sea monster hunters? If you haven’t checked out Netflix’s animated film The Sea Beast, this is your sign. You’ve heard of Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan but this Netflix movie is changing the game.

It follows a young girl named Maisie who’s obsessed with the legends of sea monsters and the hunters that defend the world from the waters they live in. One day she has the plan to stow away on a ship of sea monster hunters and take a journey off the map, to areas that no one has ever explored before. Talk about epic.

But—just like any good film, we couldn’t help but notice a few details and things you might’ve missed when giving it a first-round watch-through. With creators who worked on films like Moana, Big Hero 6, and Bolt, it’s only natural that they would take some inspiration, especially when it comes to the animation style.

However, there are other details involving shows like Game of Thrones and movies like Lilo and Stitch that are hidden, some in plain sight, in The Sea Beast. Ready to find out how Jaws could possibly relate to a children’s movie?

I also feel like the story of the sea beast is quite similar to the movie how to train your dragon, like you have the main character that learns to hate these creatures, Maizie learns to hate sea beasts and hicupp hates dragons and they learn through out the story that the creatures are not as bad and terrifiying as they seem and befriends a somewhat important monster for the plot 😉
