Cory actually recommends making that short bit of airline tubing inside of the filter to be as short as physically possible. Otherwise, with the curve of a longer piece, the air stone sits off to the side and you lose air out of the side of the sponge and not all the bubbles are going through the lift tube

You can also tighten the air stone by twisting it to make bubbles finer

If you don’t have an air stone do you need to put a bit of hose in the middle still or just the top connection?

This particular filter has a very course sponge so air will escape thrue the sides of the filter and to avoid that you cut a very short tube for the airstone OR you get another spongefilter that doesn´t come with this problem!

Do you keep the little plastic rings in the air stone? There is two of them in between the mesh rings.

It really pisses me off that this didn’t come with an air stone I live in a small state with little to nowhere to get fish products and it says nothing about needing a separate air stone on the website so then I get everything for my aquarium and I’m ready to set it up but no fucking air stone and I’m probably gonna have to order one online and wait another week
