PSA: I am on holiday for two weeks until start of July now, so the third installment of this series will be out probably not until 5 weeks or so. To keep everyone ticking over until that, I am working on a video on the Battle of the River Plate, which will be released in about 3 weeks. Stay tuned, and subscribe + bell me to find out first.

HMS Warspite was a veteran of the WW1 battle of Jutland and served with distinction in all theaters during WW2. Beautiful ship, I can't believe the British government scrapped her after the war. As she was being towed to the scrappers yard she broke away and ran aground at a place called Prussia Cove, almost as if she was determined to take one final crack at the Germans.

I'd like to point out that Captain Roope was also recommended for the Victoria Cross by the Admiral Hipper's captain, Hellmuth Heye, who wrote to the Admirality via the Red Cross and praised his and his crew's gallantry.

Wow. You make some of the best historical videos I have ever seen. Highly detailed and informatical, with nice visuals and asthetics to top it off. This channel deserves way more subscribers then it currently has.

The H.M.S Glowworm was an incredible and quite unlucky story. The heavy cruiser Hippper sent its two accompanying destroyers to search for a man that had fallen overboard and in the fog they ran into Glowworm, Hipper did so much damage to Glowworm they basically had no other option but to ram it and go down kamikaze style.
The really sad thing is that the captain, Roope actually survived and didn't go down with the ship but couldn't hold onto the German rope pulling him up and he drowned.

I just visited Norway and have some family there who died in WW2 during the invasion and the ensuing resistance. It's really nice to be able to see detailed videos, such as the ones you create on this topic, as it's overshadowed by the rest of the war. Love the content!

These are utterly incredible videos. I've loved all of them so far. You've got an incredible narration voice, and the level of detail is immense. It's obvious how much work you've put into these. Please keep these coming, and I hope that you get picked up by a major channel to do a series so you can make some real money for these. Please keep them coming.

It's a shame that this is the first time I heard about the HMS Glowworm, I now hold her with the same regard as the USS Johnston. Thanks for this video.

6:30 I have said before there is a real usually self-imposed disadvantage to being the best and strongest. You don't expect your enemy to challenge you, so if they do, they have the element of surprise, which can more than make up for the disparate in strength.
You can win a fist fight with the world heavyweight boxing Champion if you hit him hard enough to knock him out before he has a chance to recover from the shock of being hit by someone with no fighting experience.
