You have a very interesting way of holding your pen lol.

Good luck with the book. I hope it does well.

Based on the tropes you used in the polls, I picked out a few and have come up.with at least four good ideas. Yay! Though I should really identity my own personal favourite tropes and use them in the template, instead of relying in the ingredient options you came up with.

The result was another Emmons masterpiece

I feel like that's gonna be the book equivalent of mixing all the drinks at the convenience store in one cup, the result scares me, but I'm intrigued 👀

Love the Mission Impossible music. Do you think next Writing Sprint video you could play Adriel Fair?
Last time just wasn't the right music for my books.

I watched the video and it was so good, very inspirational for coming up with story ideas. And I love this short as well. I love how the mission impossible theme song is playing in here as well. Because Mission impossible is one of my favorite movie franchises of all time. 😊❤️❤️📕

Can you write a perfect fairytale without romance? That’s the real question. It’s what I’m currently writing. Story is more about parent-child and friends, while sequel is about romance after character has grown up. Part of me says skipping romance in first one is a mistake, but i also think it makes the sequel that much more interesting by comparison. Its the “enemies to lovers” type so they’re enemies in the first book and then rivals in the second and lovers in the third

Obviously, the perfect book does not exist
Abbie: it could”

Frankly, if you can write a book that resonates with so many people, that’s a perfect book in my opinion.

Very ambitious. For "Anarteq: Guardian of the Soo, " my initial foundation was simply a self-imposed challenge to add a Canadian hero to The Gerosha Chronicles, since it didn't previously have one.

When I found most of Canada boring, I figured I'd make him an Eskimo. But how to make THAT interesting? Cue the rabbithole of trying to modify elements of Inuit mythology to make sense into that world's cosmos, incorporating indigenous culture and Canadian geography into understanding Isitoq's origins, trying to map out an entire timeline for how his family tree makes any sense, trying to figure out who his enemies would be, what could possibly motivate them, find a way to get them all to show up in Sault Ste Marie that makes even a lick of any sense, then figure out how to have everything go from a soothing northern atmosphere vibe to a slowly-building climactic thriller - while also making it all try to make sense in the context of the greater host world.

Then, came actually visiting the region. Which led to...trying to figure out how to incorporate real buildings and architecture into the plot. Noting what could go wrong in-universe based on what did or didn't go wrong with my own trip to the region.

Then there was the issue of his family, and deducing their family dynamics. "How does this make sense? How does he relate to his cousin? What motivates her to act so recklessly? How will they resolve a matter brought on by how headstrong they both are?"

So then, she gets her own set of subplots, namely with regards to how she gets to Sault Ste Marie from North Bay after running away from home. How she stays hidden for two weeks without even her cousin finding out what she's doing. How she gets in more trouble than she can handle, and winds up losing a fight to Wishpon, then ends up in jail on the Michigan side after Wishpon damages a power plant and leaves her stranded.

Then there's her legal dilemma after she gets arrested. Why isn't she simply deported? Justification for why Michigan keeps her. Making that make sense in lieu of what's happening elsewhere in the Gerosha universe.

So then, Izzy has to save the city without her. How will he manage, when he could've really used the backup? What does he get right? What goes horribly wrong? What even could? He thinks he's been a good spy. But what if the enemy suddenly flipped the script, and figured out where he was renting somehow, provided a diversion, then got the plot device they were after, which was supposed to guide them to the MacGuffin? Now what's he supposed to do?

And then, just when he wanted to imagine it was over...how to get his cousin out of jail? Can he, even? And then, let's just say what if the government up there isn't grateful, and throws him under the bus in order to negotiate with terrorists? Now, he's gotta go on the run, as if he were some sort of criminal, for destroying a MacGuffin that could've ended the universe! Where does he go? Will his cousin ever get out of jail? Sequel material!

And if the plot is over too quickly? Well, there's filler. Explaining his motivations. Explaining his predecessors and their motivations. What happened to the previous Anarteqs?

What started out as a simple nationality hero challenge, quickly morphed into an endless rabbithole.

He doesn't get married until the end of book 3. He doesn't even so much as get a mysterious text from his future wife until mid-way through book 2! He fears he'll always be alone, because he lacks the confidence to seek out a woman. He's all about the mission.

His cousin, on the other hand, has no patience, but is all too willing to put herself out there. So while she's had a lot of one night stands, none of them leave her feeling truly satisfied.

Two lovelorn Eskimo mermaid saboteurs, trying to protect the north from terrorists and monsters, and facing betrayal at every other turn.

There's probably a lot of tropes that never get played at all. But the ones that exist are the result of trying to start with a simple challenge, create a premise, set it in a pre-established mythology, and then try to make it all make sense.

I'm not sure if the project I'm working on would be considered the "ultimate comfort book." However, my idea is definitely a blend. A concoction of creative genius, and how a lot of innovations and advances started as just stories.

An interesting challenge. I would point out as a painter that when you take all the best colors and mix them together you get an ugly brown or gray. Sometimes trying to include the best of everything will not result in something great. But good luck on your challenge.😎
