when I first heard this on GTA high af, it changed my life a lil bit. How awesome is the instrumentation? Beautiful song, it has a certain profundity to it

I used to pop that track with my father. He enjoyed it quite much. Now that he's not here, this track is one of the things that keep us together.

See you on the other side, pops.

I have been looking for this for years and was thinking “wait, could this be it???” Then the drop confirms it. Goosebumps and victory

The sample is not Özdemir Erdoğan's "Gurbet" as many of you claim, it's "Yekte" by Zafer Dilek!!!!
And both of these magnificent artists are pioneers and they are not political figures, you can even consider Zafer Dilek as one of the first Turkish Funk artists, to me what he did was to blend oriental themes and Anatolian, Middle Eastern motifs with Funk elements, he is such a unique artist. On the other hand, Özdemir Erdoğan is a respectable Jazz frontman, he has led big bands and is a competent Jazz guitarist in his rights, he blended different genres and themes as well. Therefore, we should respect their art instead of fighting over a nonsense.
It's not "Gurbet" by Özdemir Erdoğan and Özdemir Erdoğan is not a politician!!!!

7 years... time flies man. I remember watching the trailers to this game on repeat during my classes in high school; was excited as hell about the release and jealous of my buddies who got the game before me haha. 2013 was a great year.

Time pls slow down a little...

Who ever is playing that sitar-like instrument is a fking legend for the rest of time ! For sure a track i'll still be playing out loud when i'm an old fuck, with a big smile on my face and a jonko in my righthand. Taking it very (very) easy.

The original melody is from the Soundtrack of an old Turkish Movie of Kemal Sunal, a prominent Turkish actor.

The song was made by Cahit Berkay, one of the founders of the Turkish band Moğollar. He is also well known for his movie soundtracks.

Since music is universal, one shouldn't say a melody is stolen but it's always nice to know and pay tribute to the original composer.
