That actually doesn't look bad, like Star Trek. It's a nice touch that kind of hides some of the special effect flaws from 1970's technology.

On the Star Trek blu ray special features there is a segment that explains the amount of lens flares. They show scenes in space without the lens flares, and they look completely dull, then once the flares are added, they bring life to the scene. Although I agree sometimes he goes over the edge with them I do believe he uses them really well most of the time.

If you want this to be the trailer for JJ Abrams Star Wars, it really needs more lensflares. I am serious. Abrams even would have put in flares in Yodas cottage.

Well done. Possibly the greatest star wars trailer. The music is what makes it. I will accept lens flares as long as they dont over do it. If they use em the right way they look great.

exactly. all they did was change the music and last I knew JJ wasn't a musician or a composer. It was still footage shot and directed by Kirshner.

I get the joke they're trying to make with the lens flares and other lighting effects, but at the same time, this isn't a half bad trailer for The Empire Strikes Back. Colour me impressed.
