Georgia mayors say they were caught off guard by Gov. Kemp's business reopening announcement

Two governors spoke with 11Alive and said the move took them by surprise.

The Governor did NOT order businesses to reopen. He simply lifted the ban. It's up to individual cities and businesses whether or not they reopen.

Brian Kemp has the blood of the innocent on his hands. It's much to early to start opening the state. Scientists say Vivid cases in Georgia won't peak until mid May. Everyone would love to see an end to this pandemic but opening the state this soon may cause a large spike in cases making the problem far worse than it currently is. Mr. Kemp needs to stop taking advice from the president and start protecting the citizens of Georgia.

Good job Governor!! We have to make baby steps towards progress using discretion and awareness!! Can't sit on ass waiting on vaccine making no attempt to move forward! The economy has to eventually open up and its good for peoples mentals and financial situations!! Not to mention the majority of cases aren't severed so as long as we have the capacity, space and equipment to handle severe cases!! Some people are financially stable enough but this financially devastating to some, and some already won't recover!! The Governor isn't stupid otherwise all of you running your mouth would be in his position!! He isn't opening the state full throttle, , he is making baby steps!! This is giving people hope and ability to see the light at the end of the tunnel opening up slowly!! People act like Walmart and sht hasn't been open anyway!! SMH!!!
