I mean if he eats the burger, he might not like it but he'll still have eaten, and will not be hungry or have to buy another meal, so that's not sunk cost, it's just common sense

In case of the movie I get it, but with the burger you just paid a certain amount for the calories, so the cost of staying alive that day goes up if you don't eat that burger.

In the movie situation, can’t you change movies tickets for another as long as you watched less than 30 minutes of it

Food is never a sunk cost... Unless you throw it in the bin after taking a single bite and not liking it... It's better to just give it to a hungry homeless dude in that case...

An example with a burger is not a sunk cost fallacy. Even if it tastes awful, eating it gives me a lot o nutritients which is worth eat it.
