Michelin-Starred Restaurant Reacts To Brutal Review

A food critic described the restaurant Bros. in Lecce, Italy as “the worst Michelin starred restaurant, ever” after being served dishes like a single tablespoon of crab, an orange, and foam in a cast of the restaurant chef’s mouth. However, the restaurant’s co-owner says most diners know what they are getting into before they enter the restaurants. Molly Hunter reports for Weekend TODAY.

I have eaten a multiple Michelin starred restaurants. This is disrespectful, and a poor excuse for sub par and rip off prices. Just disrespectful. Food is food, at its basic, to bring art into it and use that as the foundation is not right. I have a feeling those stars were bought.

This restaurant is the prime example of the self indulgence and pretentious entitlement that has pervaded food where if you don't like the food, then it is obviously your fault as the customer, not the kitchens. Overpriced piece that is probably presented to satisfy the chef's ego, not the partaker's tongue or stomach.

If I go to eat at a restaurant I want food that satisfies my appetite and my hunger. Not morsels of food that look like Science experiments. It's not for the customer to try and "get" the food being served- It's to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and overall experience of dining.

This NBC bit earns a bad review as well. They present the "man and horse" pages and tease that it was a strange reply from the restaurant, but don't give the viewers any taste of the thrust of it. Then when the chef says that the diners didn't understand what the "meal" was really about, they didn't follow up with the obvious question on every viewer's mind -- well what *was* it supposed to be about?

Let's talk about the narcissisism fed to entertain the idea of people licking foam out of a cast of your own mouth. That's super annoying to me. At least let me pick a cute server to cast it or something. I'd pay more for the option.
