In the Kingdom of Albuquerque, master alchemist Walter Whiteknight receives a fatal diagnosis of smallpox, and decides to take desperate measures to earn the gold he needs to provide for his family.

He secretly enlists a young former alchemy student called 'Jester Pinkman' and they set off on a quest to find the ingredients they need to create 'Blue Meth, ' a rare and valuable, but dangerous and forbidden potion.

All the while, his brother in law, Sir Hank of House Schrader, is a member of the King's Guard, and is tasked with eradicating the foul substance wherever it's found.
