I'm here for the Irish history and folklore that you give with some of the names, so interesting

Being named Erin, I love learning about the traditional Ériu. Such a great history and a great name.

Loads of names I was unfamiliar with there, though my friend's daughter is called Siomha (slightly different spelling and a fada on the i) and my aunt is called Iseult. Iseult is also Welsh, from Essylt, meaning 'fair one'. I also love Searc! Hadn't heard that one before. So cool. Other Irish names I like for girls include Lasairfhíona (La-sa-reena), meaning 'flame wine' and Liadan (Lee-a-dan) (I think there should be a fada on the i but I'm not sure), meaning 'grey lady'. There's an Abelard and Heloise-style story behind Liadan, too. I also like Beanbha (Ban-va), meaning womanly, I think. Interesting video. Thank you :-)

I was adopted at birth, and did not know my ancestry until recently… and I descended directly from Ireland. Coincidentally, my adoptive last name is also obviously Irish.

I plan on naming my kids a traditionally Irish name, with Irish spelling to honor my heritage. They are so beautiful ♥️

Thank you for these wonderful videos!

I wish I was irish!! These names are so so sooo beautiful :) Like taken straight out of a book of fairytales :) My own name "Ragnhild" is an old norse/nordic name that means female or goddess, and my middle name "Vibeke" is old-german and means war/battle. Harsh names, but I share the name with a viking queen ;) In my next life I want to be named "Ailbhe" <3 Or Alva as we say in Norway :)

Such beautiful names, thank you for sharing:)
I’d love to hear about traditional Irish fairytales or folktales!!

Love your videos! I'm an Eibhlín, still to meet someone with the same name as me😊

There’s something about sticking the “-ín” suffix onto names that makes me immediately love the names and their meanings. My Irish partner and I had initially decided on Rose as a middle name for our future first daughter (after his mam), but I keep leaning more and more toward Róisín as time goes on.

There's a Réiltín on Ros na Rún. Always thought it was super cute.

So my name is Caitriona and I’ve always heard that is an Irish name. After doing some research today I found it actually came from Scotland, and was brought to Ireland? Anyway I also found out it is pronounced Ka-Tree-Na in Ireland.. and I (or my parents I guess) pronounce it Kay-Tree-On-Uh... what do you think?!

Just found your videos today and love them! New subscriber!! 💜💜💜

Another example worth noting for "Iseult" would be the Wagner opera, "Tristan und Isolde".

Mel also means honey, sweet in many European languages (Melissa, Melusine, mellifluous, ameliorate.... however Melanie means dark, same root as Melanoma)

The most ironic thing I've ever heard in my life. Searc (Shark 😠aaaahh) means love and affection. How nice😁😄.
By the way these are the most adorable, powerful names ever. I would like my future daughter to have a powerful, strong name.

I love watching your baby name videos. Where I'm from my name is fairly popular and the Irish spelling of my name was in this video

I (jokingly) suggested to my husband that we rename our 4-year-old Searc. He rolled his eyes at me. Rude! She's super loving, but also capable of a fierce attack, so I thought the meaning and word association would both be appropriate.

Love your name videos! Irish pronunciation continues to baffle the mind, but you break it down very well! Could you explain the bh/th/bhth pronunciation?
