Blade - 200 QX - Detailed Review and Flight

This is my review of my current absolute favorite quadcopter, the Blade 200 QX! With a great design, brushless motors, awesome LEDs, and the incredible "SAFE Technology" 6-axis stabilization system, it simply can't be beat in this size quad.

One word. WOW!!! How did I miss this thing? I'v been searching over a week now trying to find the perfect "Mini Quad"! Wanting a small reliable Quadcopter with lots of "power" but still docile enough to fly around the house with precision. That being said I finally found My Dream Quad!!! So I started with a UDI 816a. One of the motors went out in 3 days. Also seemed to be the hardest to fly for some reason.  Bought a Hubsan x4. Love it. Bought a Latrax ALias. Love it. Just got the Blade 200 qx. However the dx5e radio I got the throttle trim does not work. Thank goodness Horizon Hobby backs their products. Just sent the radio back and now playing the waiting game. I can say I am only 1 month into flying but have R/C car experience. I think that and me playing xbox one first person shooters really made the transition to flying easy for me. Picked it up right away.

I've also purchased this quad because of your review. I have flown 3 or 4 different quads (not a lot I know) ranging from cheap up to phantom 1 dji's and I agree that for the money this is my favorite too. Thanks for the detailed review.

Looks great flying in your kitchen, I have yet to fly mine, I found mine on a ebay auction for a great deal . I impressed what I saw in the box .knowing me it won't stay stock for long and recieve a full upgrade like my 200!srx, lol !!,

The LED colours might even confuse me more than you, since, though in aviation I am also ex sailor and red means port (left hand side) and green means starboard (right hand side). But for me the green would be at the front given any other option, I agree.

been flying it for a few days now...man is this thing fast and it flies amazing. Wind has like zero effect when you fly I around.
The flips and loops you can do are so tight or you can make them like airplane loops kind of thing.
Really fun and battery lasts a lot. I pushed the motors to the max and flew like 7 to 8 minutes per battery (I have two and two more are on the way). Conservative flying above 10 minutes easily.

VERY fun, very fast, very stable. You can't go wrong with this people.

Got a phantom 3 Standard and experienced similar problems with the motors, and its no problem. It’s just the oil on the bearings in the motors being a little dry. It shouldn’t have any effect. I’m gonna pick one of these up as they’re on sale in Uk. Just £62.

Ryan if you go to the sport props you will probably need the 30c battery
I flipped mine inverted this morning for the first time and I was glad I was using the 30c.
The 3d props are not supposed to be in till mid Oct. I've got mine ordered just a waiting.

Its a great quad I am happy with mine, I don't care for the grind sound (when using rudder or turning) something just is not right, but I suppose even brush less motors can wear out also. Especially when vendors keep pushing the envelope with new tech, battery's, motors, performance, etc. The 721 camera leaves less to be desired, wish these vendors would continue to update current products and update new products for their current models (if something does not work right to improve there released models ), as opposed to releasing the newest greatest and latest model to appease the ever growing hobby. It would he Nice to see some commitment to released models from vendors, as a lot of these things are pricy and it would be refreshing to see them upgraded and in production for a long time to come once released. All in all! A great model I have had about 50 flights with 0 problems or repairs, however 0 crashes though. Well worth the price, however its a little to sporty of a quad for the first time rc enthusiasts, unless said enthusiasts is willing to repair when they crash.. Cheers

BEST SMALL QUAD PERIOD!!!
I have been flying and crashing mine for about a month or so and have hundreds of flights on it.I have torn off arms( epoxy and right back in the air) and got it in a tree for over a week and 3 rainstorms ( dried it out swapped out the battery .. no problems). Last week I finally just got tired of my ugly epoxy beast and replaced the canopy and swapped/reversed the LED's, because I find it easier to see the green LED's at night. I do have one motor that makes a little noise, but has not affected the longevity and runs at the same temperature.
