You didn't explain Critical Race Theory, you are just showing how others are reacting to it... I literally don't know what it is, so how would I know whether to like it or not! EXPLAIN IT!

Anyone that's taken a real CRT class knows damn well it's racist, divisive, and hypocritical.

As I begin to understand CRT and understand what is being said to describe the factors that have contributed to generational African American poverty, it has its place in academia. I think where the misunderstanding begins is where you're teaching CRT from the stand point that white Europeans were the sole cause of the condition of African Americans, when leaving out what set the precedence for Europeans to inflict pain on Africans, was that this began with African tribalism and the capturing of Africans by Africans and being sold to Europeans. I think we should teach how both Europeans and Africans contributed to this evil and then use CRT and explain how it shifted from classism to race, due to the fact that there were indentured native American and white European slaves in America prior to the expansion expansion slave trade . You cant try to enact change by teaching something in such a way to marginalize a group of people. We arent going to get any aware if we try to repeat what was done to us.

I read several early CRT essays, if it’s based on fact, and the papers were well cited then it is legitimate and academic.

But I want to illustrate how it is used to present a one-sided picture.

I have a friend who is a copywriter for a corporation. She writes their newsletter including holiday news stories.

The company loved her essay about Juneteenth which was based on CRT information.

Then she wrote about the history of Labor Day which included information about the Pullman Strikes and labor history.

The companies response:

“We are sorry we can not publish your article on Labor Day because it might upset our vendors.”

Meanwhile during the election, Kimberlé Crenshaw said corporations are doing more for African Americans than anything proposed by Bernie Sanders.

So, although certain truths must be known of the past and I support that, I don’t support the narrative that it is “all about racism”. Conveniently leaving out class issues, and what exploitation of labor really means.

In fact, you can’t understand US history without it, because the Lockean property theory is based on the labor theory of value.

As it stands today CRT is being used more as an apology for corporate abuse, than anything that will effect positive change.

Well produced but not accurate. Critical Theory is a Marxist term. CRT is race-based Marxism.
