Best Cell Phone Booster 2018 - WeBoost Connect RV 65 Review

I took the Connect RV 65 into the field to test its abilities and was not disappointed. It enabled me to make calls and check online apps where it was impossible before switching on the booster. Very cool unit if you do not mind setting it up when you get to camp and taking it down when you switch spots.

We are doing a review on the Weboost Connect RV 65 signal booster, the strongest RV signal booster you can get. This is for stationary applications only. It has a 25’ antenna pole whereas mobile cell phone signal boosters will only give you up to 50 DB worth of boost.

I took this to two remote locations where I typically do not have cell phone signal. What’s in the box? A 25’ telescoping antenna, a weboost box of parts containing: warranty, manuals, weboost signal booster, internal antenna, external antenna, and all the mounting hardware, as well as an a/c power supply and the mounting hardware for our internal antenna, lots of cabling and a flat cable that can run through a window.

To attach the antenna to the pole, take the mounting hardware and attach a bracket to the antennae with two screws. Use the u-bolts to attach the mounting bracket and use the wingnuts as well.

The black brackets attach the pole to the rv. The pole is very light weight which is great. Carefully consider where you want it to go. The brackets slide up and down and give plenty of space between them. Once you have it where you want it, use a level, then mark it with a pencil before permanently attaching. Take the other side of the brackets and attach them securely before sliding your pole into place.

I drove to Wyoming to Twin Buttes Lake outside of Laramie, it’s fairly isolated. After we put up the antennae and pointed it in the direction of Laramie, we began receiving much better reception, leaving roaming and entering the Sprint network.

Later we went to Pawnee National Grasslands, a very isolated location, and set up the antenna again. The antenna boosted our signal by 65 DB which provided us with cell phone service again. Very impressive technology.

Thanks to weboost and thanks to all of you for joining me. Until next time, Happy Camping!

By far the best video around detailing the install, use and performance of this product. Thanks for taking the time to put it together!

10:05 "You're gonna have to kinda play around with your pole..." haha

Ex cell engineer here. -120 is the horrible end. It should work but it will suck. Very susceptible to interference. Strength isn't the whole story. You can have good strength but a totally polluted signal. -80 is a very nice average strength. You had -75 which trust me is awesome. This is an expensive unit but you have encouraged me to buy one.

The pole is gnarley....twisting it and trying to keep it extended. However, this RV65 is fantastic!

Awesome video. I’ve been trying to decide on this for northern lower Michigan. Only 10-12 miles from the closest tower, but barely any service. Gives me some hope that it will work!

Another thorough, and easy to follow review. Great Job!

How about testing it with the pole down ? Then move it up slowly.

Great! I had pretty much made up my mind to get the 4X and now I am leaning toward the 65! Might just have to get both!

I love my weboost 4G-X-RV with directional antenna. Just want to point out you went from -100db to -65db which is a 35db gain, not 65db gain.

I live in a dead zone basement condo in a well populated area. My problem is not the “in the middle of nowhere” syndrome. My problem is that no condo manager or homeowners association is going to allow a 25 foot pole to be extended right outside your condo.

I have a we boost eqo booster. It does not work hardly at all with GSM carriers. It works significantly well with CDMA carriers, but not good enough. MAYBE if you have roof access, (which I don’t), might it actually improve the signal well enough.

do you think this will work internationally?

How close to the inside antenna did you have your phone to get those readings? We have another WeBoost product, but have to have the cell phone or MiFi device right next to the inside antenna to get the the best improvement in signal. If we have our phones or MiFi device even six feet away we get very little signal boost.
Great video!
Thanks

I wish you would have done a Mbs test. DB is just for signal strength but Mbs shows upload and download stats for actual use. If I can be impressed it would be with a Mbs test.

What kind of range in your RV do you receive from the inside antenna on both the connect 65 booster system and the drive 4gx-xrv system. trying to decide which one to purchase and need as much coverage inside as possible. I know it depends on the outdoor strength signal but please compare from the same location from using both if you have that info. if not an average lenght will do. Thanks !

Great review. How far did you get the outside antenna from the inside antenna. Your RV looks about the same size as mine. I'm concerned I can't get it far enough away.

Maybe I didn't see, but what carrier did you connect to and how many bars? Did you do a speed test? That's the real proof most are looking

I’m curious the result difference between mast raised and mast down position. In Wyoming there’s lots of high winds. Did you get a chance to see how that mast works on high winds days?
