Ok beer traps just encourage them to come for 50 years now ive been leaving nettles and brambles wild i don't like getting stung and they don't so leave nettles and brambles wild around beds little damage for over half a century now happy gardening Richardx

Thank you. Very informative. I have too much snails and they are out of control. I collected garden leaves and branches piled into the compost. Each night I can collect a full Walmart bag of snails. Last year, we had a freeze under 10F degree. This year I have less, but they multiplies so quick. My only way to keep them out of my garden is built a rough wall around the vegetables and pick them up each night.

I still say by far the best way to reduce slug and snail numbers is to physically get rid of them. Either have something that finds them very tasty (note that hedgehogs and slow-worms do this too), or go out just after sunset with a pair of scissors and a torch and kill every one you can find. After a few days of doing that, you'll find the numbers are greatly reduced.

The commercial before your video was too get rid of pigeons, I once tamed a wild pigeon. I named him Phil, and he would let me pet him and stuff. He lived on my balcony but then we had to part ways cuz he pooped too much. Too rid of a pigeon that you are friends with, simply pour out ground black pepper wherever they roost. It irritates their feet without really hurting them, so they will move. Hopefully that helps some one. And I have made beer traps for snails before that work really well, the only problem for me is I live by a river so in no time at all they fill the trap and then just crawl out off all the dead bodies. Im hoping you have some natural tips?

Thank you for this video! I'll try out commercial snail bait, as I do have a serious snail problem. I caught about twenty just this morning. They ate off all the leaves of my young turkish nut bush and started to feed on my eggplants 😢 Even tough, there is plenty of deconposing plant material for them.

Try scattering potassium chloride after every rain around plants for slugs. Its fertilizer too.

Wood on the ground in general attracts snails and slugs. I can go out in my yard anytime and pick up any 2x4 or plank and guaranteed too find slugs and snails, although have had no problem with wood chips? Although the wood chips I use are from my chicken coupe full of poop that I turned to mulch, dont know if that makes a difference?
