Some people believe the color of the candle changes the intention of the spell, (Green = luck/fortune, Red = love/fertility, Blue = peace/tranquillity, White = all-purpose)
I forget what the other colors usually are...

Hi! So I'm fairly new to the practice and I set up a really simple protection candle spell with the help of a friend who's been practicing a while. Started off great, burned SO fast like all the way down immediately. A good majority of the flame was blue. Even after it was all the way down. The flame seemed to be getting out of control (now this is a little candle) and it was way too much for me to pinch it. So i poured a significant amount of water and the flames were INSANE. at least a foot from this tiny candle. and ive done alot of work with these same candles. ive never had anything like this happen before. I mean maybe im just an idiot but im just curious to what all this means.

It’s interesting that the things I learned in massage school to do energy work/massage work are exactly like preparing to do a spell. We were taught to ground. Open our heart chakra invite in whatever we thought was holy or divine, set our intention, let the divine healing light into our crown Chaka and fill our bodies and merge with the roots going into the earth so while working in a person we filled them with divine healing light. Not our own. And siphon off any bad energy to go through our bodies but not effect us as it was sent down into the ground. We are not healers. We are but the tool for healing energy to heal the person, helping them heal themselves really. And the exact same process for meditation. Also as far as casting a circle we did something similar to create a protective circle or bubble to keep out negative energy. Also ( so many also’s) the way you were holding the candle in your hand we would do but like as if we were holding an imaginary ball of light. And when it works you can feel it! A ball of Chi feels like if you had opposing magnets in your hands. You could feel the resistance as you moved your hands closer or apart. Or like if you were smoothing a snowball. I usually started a massage with a chi ball and if their main complaint was lower back I’d put the ball there and push it in and start from that point. Otherwise I’d start at the head.

So I’m sensing the reason I’m being drawn to this path is I feel as if it the next step on a path I started 20 years ago but stepped away from because...life. And now everything is lined up to get back on a spiritual path. Feels like witchcraft has a more structured feel to it with the tools involved.
