“Pick and place” means the machines are picking components off of trays, feed reels, etc and placing them on the board to be soldered. Yes, it also means the design is finalized but only because it needs to be at that point. ;)

I am buying one as soon as they are listed. And I am so glad you actually know how USB-C PD works as some people were going hard on Taki over this as if they had to hunt down a specialized PSU.

I already have the DE-10 nano but I'm wanting to upgrade my older IO board and older ram module to the latest and greatest through Taki Udon. He seems to have more reasonable prices. Although I may wait for the second or even third batch to see if these are quality / long lasting components without random failures.

Have all cores been updated to support the 24-bit color that the new analogue IO boards now support? If that's still in the works then I'll just hold off on my upgrades until those are ready.

3- at one point I'll maybe make a core that's a media player so this becomes the main thing attached to my TV if the fpga is capable

Hey great video as always, i have the qmtech alternative board and recently tested it and it runs all the cores no issues, i will get the taki alternative as well because of the 3 boards, which qmtech said will have as well soon, just in case you or anyone is interested.
