For cars, definitely mix some acetone, paint thinner or methanol (old school antifreeze) to make it higher octane. There are even videos of people running petrol engines on reducers.

As usual, use a biodigestor or sawdust stove (mine burns for half a day) to save time from refueling during distillation.

As a sheet metal man, I could turn sheet metal into a tub or make sawdust stoves as wide as I want them to be. I worked with mechanics next door many times by the way.

Great video, You can use the flammable gases to increase burning under the drum

The process produces about 10% gas which can be used in a feedback loop so no wood needed to burn. You cannot use this fuel (naphtha) directly as petrol because the octane ratio is incorrect. It's needs to be reformed first and ideally additives mixed in with it.

Great idea. However, please be aware of explosion risks. Highly risky to cut barrels with angle grinder without water in those drums at least quarter full.
