This video explains how to check the motherboard model, manufacturer and the motherboard chipset.

Read in Detail How to Check What Motherboard You Have?

Basically, I will talk about two very simple methods. There are several more, but the two mentioned here are easy to follow and give you ample information.

The first method I talk about is using the Windows System Information utility to check the make and model of your motherboard. For this method, you do not need to download any app or software.

The second method I talk about is using a Free third party software called CPU-Z by CPUID.com. The neat part about this utility is that not only does it tell you the make and model, it also tells you what chipset your motherboard uses.

Would it be ok to reinstall the lower version of the chipset driver? I'm using a rog b550 motherboard and it fu*#d up my pcie x16_1 slot and it only allows pcie x16_2 which is not preferable as it is slower and uses only x4 instead of x16 causing glitches just moving mouse pointer. I have ryzen 5600x and rtx 3080 gpu all Pc parts are brand new.

Thanks for the video, however on my PC (Acer Aspire XC600) I can not find out the chipset info. Using CPU-Z, under the Motherboard tab it only shows the Manufacturer (Acer) and model (Aspire XC600 v1.0) all the other fields are greyed out with no further info. Also System Information just shows the same. Do you know how I can find out what the chipset is? Thank you.
