Dave Weckl was ~29 years old here. Ridiculous craftsmanship. My all-time fave trio. RIP CC.

God needed another star to burn bright in Heaven... and what a Masterpiece he took. I was blessed to have seen Chick three times through the years at the Detroit Jazz Festival, the last being in 2018. We just lost Mary Wilson of The Supremes, a very bad start to 2021. Their talent will live on in our, minds, hearts and played through our souls. Music... it never leaves us. Thank You Chick for sharing your gift with us, God Speed and enjoy the paradise of Heaven.

He is real genious.
when he comes to Korea 2 months ago, i felt that direct in my head. Although he got about 75 years old, he was still young

it had always only been a question of time till Chick would give us his version of On Green Dolphin Street, a piece that has Latin written all over it, and has charming harmonies, which yet are very open to re-harmonizing.

This trio and the Jarret/Peacock/DeJohnette trio are my fave jazz piano trios...

There is such a freedom in the groove with the most superlative technique is awe inspiring. While the beat is metronomic the freedom of stretching time, heard around that beat, is impeccable. Any thumbs down here would give a thumbs down to life, and truly illiterate to musical genius.

Attended two concerts of this fantastic trio, in 1986 (Elektric Band with F. Gambale) and in 2018 ! Always the same magic !

I'm so proud to have met Chick in south Africa. Many many years ago. I asked him if one of his songs were double recorded. He looked at me and said no man that's one take. 🎉😂😊Rip 😢

9:09 They grooved so hard that even after the song ended the audience couldn't help clapping in unison to the beat.
