Richard Dawkins is one of the most famous and outspoken atheist in the world for the past decades. His book; "The God Delusion" has sold in millions all over the world. On this channel, I've addressed a lot of his objections, memes and slogans. In this short video, I wanted to show why Richard Dawkins and his work - are a bad reason to convince you of becoming an atheist. If you are a non-believer like atheist or agnostic, you should follow the work of someone who is a diligent truth-seeker, who investigate and put in the effort to understand the other side he/her is critiquing. Many outspoken atheist don't - including Richard Dawkins, with his own words.

NO, this video is *not* trying to prove God exist. This video is a critique of the Christian critique by Richard Dawkins - and he will show you why by his own words. And yes, original video links are linked in description box.

- THEN, nothing is wrong! But if I, (a Christian) post the ending and conclusion of that video, skeptics in comment section screams;
"I take things out of context" ?? smh.

Research responses to the memes, strawman's and slogans before eating them up from a man who don't even bother - yet WILL write a polemical book and more on it to influence millions. If Dawkins is going to write a philosophical critique, he should be able to pass "philosophy 101" as atheist philosopher Michael Ruse says in video. And since his critique is pointed a Christian theology, he should engage with the literature like Cosmic Skeptic say - and not reply with "I got better things to do" . Finally, since Dawkins "Can't think of, and therefore think nothing would persuade him of evidence for God" ... Then why ask for it, or conclude there are none?

Btw, I prefer atheist *philosophers* like Graham Oppy, Thomas Nagel and a bunch from the 1800s.

Brilliant editing. I can see why this video is taking off! Pop atheism is very boring as it all boils down to Dawkins comment toward the end, roughly:
unstated axiom: "no evidence could possibly be convincing"
theist: "here is some evidence"
pop atheist: "that isn't convincing to me, therefore you have no evidence, therefore I win"

I like Richard Dawkins due to his honesty in his own beliefs, He knows that a theistic perspective of the world provides much more evidence and reason to everything. He is so far down his own beliefs that he just accepts his own dogmatism.

0:48 Some context here, Dawkins is of the position that religion is a force for evil, and his reasoning for that is that believing in things based on nothing but faith, which, as he argues, is what religion is about, is inherently evil because it technically stops discussion and allows anyone to simply claim anything they want on the grounds of faith.

His position is one of anti-religion, but this isn't THE position of all atheists, there are atheists who are fine with religion, I'm fine with it and I know many who are. However I also acknowledge that religion can indeed be a force for evil, and, unlike Dawkins, also that it can be a force for good. It all boils down to how it is applied, and I believe it CAN be applied for good. This is where we differ.

Dawkins isn't a representation of what all atheists believe. In fact his position isn't even what I'd call what atheists GENERALLY believe.

Rather than "bad reason to be an atheist" it's more like a critique on how Dawkins doesn't seem to bother with understanding theology while simultaneously critiquing it which comes off as somewhat hypocritical. I would agree to this stance since assuming that the other side has absolutely nothing to say about anything from the get go is a terrible stance to have. That isn't to say that Dawkins doesn't understand religion at all given how he's addressed it over the years.

Usually their targets are religious people who don't understand the religion they profess because they haven't read or studied all their spiritual texts so you get these really dumbed down debates. It's like a professional boxer inviting randos into the ring for a bit of one on one - you're going to get a boring one-sided fight.
