What is Digital Media?

The University of Houston Digital Media program prepares technologically-savvy graduates to develop, design, and manage established and emerging media that meets and even exceeds the visual communications needs of their clients.

Is it possible to get a job in the film or animation industry with a Digital Media degree? I'm a little worried because most of my required classes are coding based and I truly HATE coding with the grieving passion. My adviser expects me to get a programming/coding based job, but that's not what I had in mind. All I want is a job editing professional videos OR making animations (cartoons). So tell me, did I pick the wrong major?
