Bolt Connections Example: Steel Structural Design

In this video we will be looking at an example of a bolt connection. The bolt connection is needed in order to transfer the load from one main plate to another. The connection consists of two main plates, M20 bolts, two spliced and two shear plates. We will be looking at the specifications and in the next videos we will see how to determine the capacity of this connection and determine the failure mode.
