Life is strange. He was one of the guitarists that were older than me, that I'd look up to back when I was a kid. Today, in 2021, I was just watching these solos of a young Randy Rhoads, frozen in time. And for the first time, it dawned on me that he is young enough to be my grandson.

So cool, seeing live Randy videos is like seeing a Bigfoot video

He didn’t play with feeling, he played with passion like his life fucking depended on it. He embodied the music. He became the music. He could play fast as hell but it was nowhere near sloppy, he was clean as fuck. Tricks? Sure, he could do them, but that’s not what he was all about. He incorporated classical music into his work in a way no one else had done before. The dude could solo, riff, read and write like a God. Long live the king that is Randy Rhoads.

Unlike alot of musicians who play doped up to hell and back RANDY was drug free and when he died in that awful plane crash the whole world knew according to his toxicology report the only thing in his system was nicotine. People may not take stock in the fact he was that way but he was real, present, and true to his craft. I have nothing but the highest of respect for that and the man. His family should be very proud of how he truly was an angel and resisted temptation even though it was there for the taking. In my opinion that is the mark of a true man. May he rest in peace in the halls of God almighty entertaining him with his spot on beautiful music....

Randy was a guitar god. I am very proud to be able to experience him with Ozzy shortly before his tragic death. The news back then was a shock and I was pretty much at the end. One of the best guitar ever. Rock in Heaven.

Enjoyed every second of that or with Randy it's every split second. We were all robbed. Just glad I was able to see him live.

It’s hard not to wonder where his place would be on the list of greatest guitarists of all time, especially with his classical background.
