Bad temperature sensor wire harness

Thank you for this video! I had recently changed the temperature sensor, and all was fine well and good until my car started doing what you illustrate here. I knew I broke off the casing of the wire harness but thought it would be ok. I did not want to replace the sensor again but this shows me straight up what the problem im having is. I was prepared to replace the harness anyway, this just confirms the issue.

Hi there. My daughters 2009 Chevy equinox kept showing Engine hot/ac off the my panel. I’ve had a half a dozen mechanic’s check the car out at $200 each time. The car continued to do this. She would lose power when this code displayed. I just noticed the wires from the heat sensor was not wrapped and up against a hot pipe. I just wrapped the wire away from the pipe and the temperature gage is acting normal. Would the wires up against a hot pipe set the sensor this way. Much appreciated.

I would think the problem is more with a harness than the temperature sensor

Would this cause ur car to overheat ? I changed everything in my 2000 civic ex but it’s still overheating

I have to change oil pressure sensor every 6 months I’m thinking this is the problem one question can I use electric tape

The temp sensor plug my car came with is a 4 wire plug. The only temp sensor replacements is a 2 wire. I’m wondering how to wire the new 2 wire plug in place of the old 4 wire plug so I can plug into the new temperature sensor

My temperature sensor is leaking coolant itself. Time to replace.

Mine is failing every time in winter cold weather at first morning starts.. engine is starting little bit bad and after started the cooling fan starts to spin at max.. i changed the coolant sensor and every time it shows 16500 error code in vcds i think i have a bad connection or wiring is bad. in summer there are no issues with this only in winter or cold weather

Mine don’t read on the gauge cluster and if I wiggle it it’ll come back then drop again if I get the right spot it’ll stay do I need a whole sensor?

Anything bad with the sensor or the wire greatly affects your vehicle's operation. I know because it happen to me.
