He is right. China has been very aggressive in the S China Sea, with the Philippines and it’s other border neighbors. It’s the reason the U.S. is back in the Philippines after being canned a few years back. Even Japan is gearing up it’s military.

The China~Philippines conflict started when the Arbitral Tribunal in the Hague awarded the Philippines a historic verdict that the land features and territorial waters within 200 nautical miles from its shore is part of the Exclusive Economic Zone of the country that China contradicted with its own 10~Dash Line that covers entirely the whole area of the South China Sea. That is basically how the conflict erupted.
