This helped out tremendously. When I went to remove the old switches, the wires pulled out of the quick connect holes, luckily I had the breaker off. I didn't know what wire went to what terminal. Plus the back of the switches were cracked and falling apart. New switches went in just like described in this video.

Exactly what I needed to complete my bathroom fan light! I couldn't figure the wires out until I seen this. House was built in 79 and the hot wire jumping over like your set up! Thanks a bunch! !

I have this and it also feeds to my daughters room. Someone replaced a switch for me years ago and now the bathroom light has to be on or power is cut off in her room. Please tell me how it is wired wrong so I can correct it. Thanks

My electrician just did this replacement. He did a great job cause my 1960’s wiring was all in different colors. Lol

I need to connect the light switch and fan switch to come on together. I have people in my house and they keep forgetting to turn the fan on so the ceiling is getting cracked up from the steam. How can I make two single poles in one single pole?

I just replaced switches like these but as soon as I push the second switch in to screw it, it stops working. Pull it out a little bit and it works fine. Push it in to screw it in place and it stops working. First switch always works. Any idea what's happening?

Hi, I have a setup nearly identical to this. I am trying to install a timer switch, but struggling a bit. When I wire it up it does not work. After doing some reading, it looks like I need to wire a neutral to the switch. My question is: does it matter which neutral wire I pick, or do I have to just run one that is connected to all of them?

I have one power source coming in to the box. I am trying to wire up two single pole switches. one switch will work a sconce on the wall and one switch will work a ceiling fan. I wired it up and the ceiling fan will not come on unless the sconce switch is on. I want them in-dependent of each other. what did I do wrong?? thanks a bunch!!

Tell me what I did wrong...I connected all the white wires together and then connected the black wire from the panel to one switch. I connected the fan black wire to the same switch and the light black wire to the other switch. I used a jump wire to connect the switches. Neither the fan nor the light comes on when switched on. What did I do wrong?

ah, i've been looking for a video with the same setup that im dealing with. mine is slightly different and im still not sure how to deal with it other than calling a professional. mine has two wires on the light, one top and one bottom, and then it has another wire backstabbed from the back bottom going to the fan switch bottom backstab. that fan switch ALSO has a top wire and a bottom wire too... i tried replacing just the light switch with a dimmer but when i duplicate the same setup everything on the circuit still works but the light. it gets no power at all. so i assume the fan is in the circuit before the light since it still works. im just iffy on trying to find another place for the bridge wire from the fan to go on the dimmer without short circuiting everything.
