I made this using another YouTuber's instructions, but your instructions are much, much easier to follow. Sewed versions last longer and do not fall apart as easily as the glued version, especially on very active pets!

Thank you so much for the tutorial. My daughter has 2 dogs, Groot and Drax and I was able to make them each a new bow tie!

Without a doubt, the best dog bow tie tutorial I have seen.
It's a terrific size for a big dog, the option of adding guides is a terrific idea. I used 1/2 inch ribbon for my guides instead of pieces of elastic and threaded soft round elastic through them and the back of the bow clasp. I found the bow clasp was a couple of inches too long, shortened it so it went around the bow twice.
Definitely use the fusible to add body to the bow - when the bow is finished it's obvious what a terrific difference the fusible and starch make to the integrity of the bow.

This is a great tutorial. The best one I have seen so far. I make bow ties for my groom clients. I will try both ways you showed. Thank you :)

I have a question. When making the wrap for the center of the bow, a 4” x 10” piece when folded as you show ends up as a 2” x 10” piece to wrap. It’s quite large and bulky to fold around the middle. It seems that you should start with a 2” x 10” piece so your only wrapping a 1” x 10” section around the middle. My point is that 2” is too much to fold around the bow tie. Can you confirm because even your piece does not appear to be 4” wide x 10” long to start with. Other than this issue your video was a breeze to follow and mine came out exceptionally well....so many thanks for your help and instructions! Keep making awesome vids....!
....please note, I just paused the video were the ruler is measuring the fabric and indeed your piece is only 2” wide and 10” long.

What about a small bow? Like a 3 inch bow? What would the measurement be?

Forgive me please but what would the measurements be if I am trying to make a 3.5 x 5.5 bow tie? Not the best at math since my second heart attack last month. Hard to concentrate at times

When making bowties it would be so much easier for us to see and follow the instructions if you all would use solid colors in your tutoring. demonstrations
