Blue In Green Tutorial
In this lesson we arrange the tune "Blue In Green" for solo jazz piano performance. Blue in Green is the third track on Miles Davis’ album ‘Kind Of Blue’ which is the best-selling jazz album of all time. The album is worth checking out if you haven’t already.

We arrange the tune in the style of Bill Evans who was the piano player on this iconic jazz album.

Blue In Green - The 10-Bar Form
The form of Blue in Green is very unusual. The 10-bar form is much shorter than most jazz standards, and is even shorter than a 12 bar blues. Because the form just contains 10 measures, it is usually repeated many times in a performance.

Applying Altered Harmony & Altered Jazz Chords
In this lesson we explore and apply altered harmony and chord alterations. The melody contains many of the interesting upper extensions and alterations which makes this a great tune to apply the theory.

I’ve been obsessed with this tune for a good while and I’ve already transcribed and taught myself how to play the outro Bill Evans does on the original Kind of Blue recording. The only minor issue i had was --- enharmonic. Notes shown ( for A7, for example, showed a Db intead of C#). But, your explanations - were exemplary!!! Thank you very, very much.
