1. They function the same
2. Same load rating
3. 27x lighter than concrete blocks
4. Moisture resistance
5. 100 recycled materials

These are some of the reasons, but check out the @Buildtuff channel to see TuffBlock in action and find out why it's fast replacing concrete deck blocks for floating decks.

I used tough blocks to support a ground level deck and they worked like a charm.

Would concrete hold up better over time opposed to this plastic ???

Agree! Much easier to move exactly where you need. I have a situation where I’m adding extra support to existing framing and this is perfect.

What's the degradation of the plastic, compared to the cement?

If you don’t put it below the frost line it will always be moving up and down. Always

Just wish it was taller like the cement block.

How do you keep the structure you are building square? The 4x4s move around in them pretty easily and I have had a hell of a time keeping my deck level and square.

I'm wanting to build a small deck with a light corrugated metal roof. Would these work with 10 foot 4x4 posts?

If your going to build a bridge for cars to go across would you use plastic, so what's the difference between cars and people

Plastic will fail, but concrete can last for CENTURIES.

How long have these been on the market?

I wonder what you would say about them if you didn't work for them lol

I’m trying to figure out how to get those out of the ground now. What tools should I use

So ... when is the ONLY time you would care about this? When you're building .. and that's like ONCE every 10 years. I dunno .. seems legit.

Heavier is better. That is not a valid point.
